George Hershman, CEO of SOLV Energy, the nation’s largest utility-scale solar contractor issued the following statement in response to President Biden’s veto of the Congressional Review Act resolution to overturn his two-year moratorium on new solar tariffs.
“President Biden’s veto of this harmful resolution is a victory for U.S. solar companies and the growing solar workforce. Repealing the two-year moratorium of new solar tariffs would have created business uncertainty, placed tens of thousands of clean energy jobs at risk, and stalled solar projects across the country.
“This
decision will provide clarity to domestic solar manufacturers and allow the
industry to move forward on important projects that boost solar deployment,
create good-paying jobs, and make clean and affordable energy accessible to
even more Americans. We are proud to stand with President Biden as he continues
his critical work to grow the clean energy economy and protect the Inflation
Reduction Act’s historic progress.”
