SOLV Energy, an EPC contractor and services provider for the PV solar, high voltage and energy storage markets, received a Golden Gate recognition from Cal/OSHA. Golden Gate is one of four structured partner programs from Cal/OSHA recognizing effective workplace safety and health programs among California employers.

Golden Gate recognition is site-specific. Beginning in June 2022, Cal/OSHA officials conducted more than 12 site visits to three SOLV Energy jobsites in Desert Center. The award was received after extensive evaluation of SOLV Energy's written safety program and close monitoring of its implementation on the Oberon I and II, Victory Pass and Arica project sites.

“Safety is embedded into our culture at SOLV Energy,” said George Hershman, CEO of SOLV Energy. “Being recognized as the only EPC contractor on the Golden Gate list is a demonstration of our motto, 'Work Safe, Work Smart,' in action and reflects our commitment to continuous improvement of our industry leading safety and health management program."

In the coming months, SOLV Energy will pursue California Voluntary Protection Program (Cal/VPP) designation for its Desert Center solar sites. Cal/VPP is Cal/OSHA's top-level safety and leadership program recognizing employers who have voluntarily managed outstanding safety and health programs. Cal/VPP companies are considered leaders in workplace safety and health, demonstrating high levels of both management commitment and employee participation.
