Throughout the week of Veterans Day, we're highlighting our SOLV Energy team members that have served our country. As you navigate through these photo journals, please join us in honoring the efforts of these amazing individuals. We are forever grateful for their hard work not only as members of our SOLV Energy family, but also as part of the United States Armed Forces.

What branch of Military did you serve in? United States Navy

How long did you serve? 24 years

What was your job in the military? Aviation Survival Equipmentman (Parachute Rigger)

How did you make your way into the solar/renewables industry? Are your jobs similar? After I retired from active duty, I completed a bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering and Technologies. I was lucky enough to be hired right after I graduated by SOLV Energy. My job in the Navy was not construction related at all. I had always liked the construction sector and after I retired it was a way that I could reinvent myself and start my second career.

What is something you learned in the military that you keep with you today? That you're only as strong as your weakest link.

What is something you would like civilians to think about on Veterans Day? The greatest thing about freedom is that you get to experience it.

What does Veterans Day mean to you? I am thankful of every man and woman that took the time out of their lives whether it was 4 years or 40. They voluntarily served their country and provided a security force that is the strongest in the world. It continues to protect us and allow us to live our daily lives without fear and gives us the benefit of freedom.
